Physiotherapy & it’s inter- relationship with Dentistry

Inter-professional collaboration between dentists and physiotherapists have the potential to improve professional practice and healthcare outcomes. Recognizing the potential contribution of physiotherapists in the management of temporomandibular disorders, obstructive sleep apnea, musculoskeletal-related headaches and other orofacial pain disorders, is now essential. Moreover, physiotherapists are skilled to screen for risk factors and red flags, refer to the specialist when appropriate, and participate in the treatment of these disorders within multidisciplinary teams (Babiloni et al. 2020).
